A winsome hydrant. :-)
xo
good news from the doc we all hope... I saw a baby sandhill crane yesterday (2 of them actually). They were grazing with their parents. Wow they are cute as can be, all yellow fluff with a bright orange beak. Not at all what I expect baby sandhill cranes to be. Do you have such birds that far north? Now that the wrens have built this nest, they aren't really bothering with it much. I wonder if they are working on the mating part. I observed both male and female building the nest and hope they come back to raise their family.
happy wednesday, last day of the month. Mark's B-day is April 2!
Funny girl! Thanks, Jola. :-)
We used to have sandhill and whooping cranes stop here while migrating, but the rednecks were blasting them form the sky. :-(
From what I've seen, the wren mating part is a few "quickies", usually before nest building begins. Mama then lays eggs as soon as the nest is completed. I am talking about Carolina wrens; yours may be different. I hope they raise a family for you.
I saw my first flicker of the season today. :-)
Thanks, Tammy.
Your last two shots here have great pops of red, vibrant.
Hope your test end up being for nothing.
Thanks, Mark. I like bright reds and blues.
