Obama's onus

Wilbur

I suppose Obama's Nobel Peace award is supposed to put the onus on him ... and the American people. Europeans used to think of the United States as a bastion of freedom and for the most part, fair in how we treated the rest of the world. This faith in us has been slipping over the past two decades, and reached unprecedented lows with the passage of the so called Patriot Act and the invasion of sovereign Iraq. I think we should hold all of our leader's feet to the fire and restore the faith we once carried to the world, and along the way we may regain our dignity.

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all the people some of the time, which is just long enough to be president of the United States.

Republicans applauded when Chicago did not get the 2016 Olympics, and hissed when it was announced that Obama is being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize; these are examples their of child-like mentality of meanness. The core of the Republican Party is an evil group of people bent on undermining the United States Constitution and anything else they see as a threat to their narrow-minded bigotry. The one area they claim to be the strongest on is national security, but the price we will have to pay to have it their way is total isolation from the international community, and dissolution of personal freedoms for we the people. Some say there are some good people in the Republican ranks, but I feel that anyone whom calls himself a Republican is encouraging the Limbaugh-like hatred and contempt these people have for most Americans and are dishonoring the legacy of Abraham Lincoln.
