I have sinned. Yesterday I committed all of the Seven Deadly Sins and probably more, the worst being Gluttony. I ate until I became ill, and after popping a couple of Tums and chasing them with seltzer, I ate some more. Life is good. I also committed Greed by grabbing and filling a plate before anyone else had a chance. Soon after eating, I was overcome with Despair because my belly was full but I wanted more which led to depression and Apathy. I lay on the couch like a fat potato, my crack was showing and my hair unkempt; I was guilty of Sloth. My son came into the room with a plate piled high with goodies, and I was overcome by Envy. I barely contained my Wrath when he grinned and refused to give me one of his bread rolls.

Yes! 7 Deadly Sins! I counted it! OMG, these plates with the food in your photo. My sin: I'm jealous. Carolyn is wonderful cook. Her kitchen is sweet.
My congrats on your Thanksgiving. Lovely holiday.:-)
Thanks, Jola.
Carolyn is a very good cook and I will be feasting for a few days on leftovers. She doesn't like the small kitchen, but she has made some great meals in it.
My kitchen is much smaller. I'm preparing the meals only on weekends. I eat my dinners close to my office; it's pretty good vegetarian bar.
It’s beautiful carol, and v. old: baroque. Thanks for this video, Ken. :-)
You are welcome for the video. I found several from different European countries I hope to post as Christmas nears.
I came back here. These several sentences about your "sins" are so funny. ;-)
Polish Christmas carols are beautiful. Actually they are simple songs. I wish we could sing together this one you posted.
Polish words of this song:
Wśród nocnej ciszy głos się rozchodzi,
Wstańcie pasterze, Bóg się wam rodzi!
Czym prędzej się wybierajcie,
Do Betlejem pospieszajcie, przywitać Pana.
Poszli, znaleźli Dzieciątko w żłobie
Wszystkimi znaki danymi sobie.
Jako Bogu cześć Mu dali,
A witając zawołali z wielkiej radości.
I love Carolyn's red slippers. Wonderful weekend to you and your family, Ken. :-)
Thanks, Jola.
I sort of made them up as I wrote, and I had to google the sins; I couldn't remember all of them. As with most sins, I don't care to remember their names; I just like committing them. :-)
I love to hear other languages spoken, but it has been many years since I heard very much Polish. European languages are beautiful, and I suppose many of them are based on old Germanic dialects and Latin. I also love French and Italian, but Spanish seems to be spoken so quickly I cannot ascertain the melody of it, and German sometimes is so guttural it is difficult to listen to. All of the Slavic dialects are melodic even though the words are meaningless to my English ears.
Thanks very much for the words to the carol; it is difficult to know what they are saying in the video.
I wondered whom would be the first to mention Carolyn's house shoes; they do go well with the pink socks and yellow shorts, don't they? ;-)
BTW: Here is how my translator sees your Polish words. It is still understandable. :-)
In the night stillness of the spreads,
Arise the pastors, God comes to you!
What are you going quickly,
Go up to Bethlehem, to greet you.
They went, found the child in a manger
All the signs of the data itself.
Honor Him as God gave,
A greeting shouted with great joy.
Have a great weekend, Jola. :-)
Thanks, Ken.
It was a silent night. The shepherds heard the mysterious voice: please, go to the Bethlehem, to the stable, to be the witness of God's birth.
They went. They found Mary and her little baby who was lying in a manger .
The conditions were v. modest; nevertheless they knew that the baby was God. Their joy was great.
Carolyn is pretty with her red house shoes and pink socks. :-)
xo...
Thank you, Jola. :-)
LOL. Thats very good use of your sinning ways.
Gotta keep the big man on my side.
That is what "they" tell us.
Heh-heh!
