Friday night this dog became tangled in a fence. He belongs to the neighbors whose house caught fire on Thursday. On Friday, the folks came back to the house and removed belongings and put water and food out for the dog. Sometime Friday night the dog, whose leash is very much too long, became tangled the same as he has dozens of times before. He howled and barked all night long. We gave the people who own him time to come back to the house and take care of his needs, but at 9:30 Saturday morning Carolyn called 911 and they sent a police officer out to investigate. He in turn called Animal Control and after 2.5 hours the control officer came out, made photos, snared and untangled the dog. He did not take the dog because there was water, food, and shelter for him even if he could not get to it. He said he had to give them a chance to remedy the situation and left a warning on their door. The people never did come back to the house yesterday, and this morning the dog is again tangled in the same place. He is not a very friendly dog, therefore we neighbors are fearful of approaching to try and help him. It is now afternoon and he is still in dire straits.

Please forgive the quality of the pics; I did something I rarely do and that is set the camera to automatic and trusted the auto-focus. The photos suck as does the Blogger Dashboard for making it so difficult to upload and arrange pics. This is as good as I could get then arranged. Google, you can do better than this!

Have a good Sunday!

They shouldn't leave their dog alone for so long time. I can't imagine that I treat my doggy in such way. She sleeps close to my legs in my bed, she has own carpets in different places of our flat, if she wants she sleeps on the balcony. She is old (15 years ), so each evening I'm preparing for her a special diet meal (rice, vegetables, chicken).

We (D. Asia, I)feel so responsible for our doggy. It can't be diffrent. Dogs trust people so much. They are helpless without their care. Dog is v. poor if he is tangled and can't get to water and food. Days are so hot lately. Yes, the dog of your neighbors is in dire straits. :-)

Thanks for the photos, Ken. I viewed them all. It's v. interesting story; however so sad! Good that Carolyn called police; she is a reasonable person.
Hugs!

I do not smile of course. I made a mistake. Sorry for it.

Thanks, Jola.
Dogs don't ask for much, but if we are going to keep them they should be treated with respect, kindness, gentleness, and love. This dog has been mistreated for a long time as far as being left tangled for hours at a time. Aga is lucky to have a good family and the family is lucky to have her.
Thanks, Jola.

Those folks seem to be looking for trouble. Why have a dog it you want to treat it like that. You will end up in trouble very quickly. It is nice of them to allow you to work on your reporting skills.

I can see Ascending becoming a Stephen King type of novel.

Bastards. I love to hear about how much love Jola and her family have for her pooch. No wonder this poor pup is mean he has been mistreated and probably ignored his entire life. Good for Carolyn!

Thanks, Mark.
The people have another dog which they keep in the house and it damn sure wasn't tied and left to suffer.

Thanks for reading the story. Yeah, the story could easily be expanded and actually has been cut down quite a bit to what it is now.

Thanks, Tammy.
For most people, their pets are a like a member of the family and Aga has a very good family life with Jola, I think. The people did obtain the dog when he was a pup, and kept him inside some until he started getting big, then he was outcast to the back lot. They used to have a fence for their dogs to run in, but it is in bad shape and will not hold him.
