One of the places that let Carolyn go because of economic woes is wanting her back. The people they contracted to do the work did not pan out so here they come sidling, asking if she will consider coming back on a new contract. She is thinking it over, the place is in Elizabethton and mostly an annoyance to get to, but if they are willing to pay enough, I hope she will take it.

I’ve read a few books in the past weeks; I finally finished Executive Orders by Tom Clancy. The e-book version is 1179 pages long and that translates into many thousands of page turns on the Droid which only displays a paragraph or two at a time. Gotta get a Nook! I also read Do Androids Dream About Electric Sheep by Phillip K. Dick. The excellent movie Blade Runner is based on the book, but the differences in book and movie are surprisingly many and wide; I like them both. I am now reading The Pelican Brief by John Grisham, a political thriller. If anyone wants my take on any of these tomes, I will gladly let you know what I think of them.

I did a few critiques on Megashot this morning; Maggie seems to be about the only one really doing them right now. Cyrus is tied up in the design and production of Megashot version 2, so he doesn’t have as much time for them as he once did. I am not very good at doing them, and it takes quite a bit of time to look at a photo, download it and try to make it better in software, upload it and make a comment as to what I did, why I did it, and how I did it and then most of the time they say they like the original better, even if it is bad sucky. Oh, the perils of an art critic!

I want the Ipad, version 2, now. You can read on it too. Somehow, I still an actual book though. Still a dinosaur.
I have been doing a few crits, thanks for mentioning it. Got into a bitching session with Jorge, the pompous old fart. Asked a few of the ones who don't bother replying ... well said in no uncertain terms that they should not be getting crits from anyone if they cannot crit others. oh yeah, had me a good 'ol time in that stupid forum. But I actually did some good ones too. I'll be damned if I will spend any more time on people who cannot even try to help out.
My computer is having some kind of mid week crisis, so it has to go the hospital this evening. So, I'll be reading more tonight. If you don't hear from me for a couple of days. lucky you. :)
Hope she decides to go for the new contract, unless of course, she is ready to retire!
The Barnes & Noble Nook color reader is what I want; it runs Google's Android OS and does about all the things the Ipad will do but at $250. It has a seven inch screen which is large enough for most online stuff. The Droid phone has come in handy for book reading when the power went off.
Jorge is a know-it-all it seems, although his photos don't show that he is much better than average shooter.
Sorry about the PC messing up; I just lost another harddrive to the geek gods; the one with all my photos quit working Monday morning. Fortunately I had all but this month's photos backed up, and this month's were still on the SD card.

I am on a loaner pc until I get it back, monday. I have back up of everything, of course.
The noble nook sounds good. I think the Ipad has a larger screen, by a bit, and a keyboard. I know so little about these things. Thanks for the information.
